Special Olympics Fitness Challenge

Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch RunSpecial Olympics Fitness Challenge

For the first time, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is launching a fitness challenge for Special Olympic athletes!

Special Olympics holds an annual Law Enforcement Torch Run and DCSO participates by hosting one locally every year. Due to event restrictions, the run had to be cancelled and Special Olympics sports suspended. This virtual fitness challenge will be held in place of that annual event, and serve as a fun challenge for athletes to remain active and hear the importance of physical fitness from law enforcement. Are you up for the challenge? Start today!

How Do I Join the Challenge?

1. Download the and print the Fitness Tracker

2. Complete daily challenges found on the Fitness Tracker calendar

3. Some challenges require you to do a workout using the DCSO instructional videos. Find the workout videos below.

4. Once you fully complete the two week challenge, plan to join members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at Lampe Park in Gardnerville on June 30th at 8:30am for 'Workout with Law Enforcement'. Bring your Fitness Tracker filled out and DCSO will celebrate your accomplishment with a final group workout, photos, and present athletes with a certificate of completion.

*** Be sure to share your fitness journey with us. Post pictures of your tracker and videos of you completing the DSCO workouts on social media. Message your photos and videos to Douglas County's Facebook and don't forget to tag us @DouglasSheriff on Twitter using our hashtag #DCSOFitnessChallenge.
