The Jail has suspended visitations with inmates, temporarily, until the restrictions are lifted by the Governor. 

Inmates have more access to telephone calls to compensate for the lack of in person visits.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Jail Visitation and Calls DCSOInmates incarcerated in the Douglas County Jail may have visits starting 7 days after their incarceration date. All visits are non-contact and run by appointment only.

To schedule a visit, call Jail Visiting (775) 782-9085 on Tuesdays between 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Visits are only scheduled for Thursdays in 30 minute blocks. 

Please familiarize yourself with the visitation rules prior to your visit.  


Visitation Rules:

  • Visitors must be 18 years or older and have a valid form of photo identification with them.
  • Children (or persons under the age of 18) must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
  • One visit per day per inmate.
  • No more than (3) visitors per inmate at a time.
  • Visitors will be checked for outstanding criminal warrants.
  • Any person who has been an inmate in the Douglas County Jail within the past 90 days is not permitted to visit an inmate.
  • Proper attire must be worn. No gang attire, no hats, no clothing or accessories that display any of the following: obscene or offensive language, graphic pictures, sheer or transparent garments, tank tops, spaghetti strap, strapless tops, exposing of the breast/chest, genital area, buttocks, or reveals underwear.
  • Shoes are required to be worn at all time.
  • No food or drinks allowed.
  • No cell phones or electronic devices.
