TRIAD Senior Programs

Citizen PatrolTRIAD is a volunteer service organization combining a cooperative agreement between the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, Tahoe Douglas Fire District, Douglas County Senior Services, State Of Nevada Aging and Disability, Carson Valley Medical Center, Douglas County Ministerial, Lake Tahoe Nevada Senior Center and Senior Volunteers.

All of the programs are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our senior citizens.

The following are current TRIAD programs offered free to the public:

  • The Sunshine Program: Birthday cards are delivered to meals on wheels clients.
  • The File of Life: Receive a refrigerator magnet containing your medical history and current medications in the event you are unable to tell paramedics yourself.
  • Senior Law Enforcement Academy: A one week program designed to educate our senior citizens in the various areas of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and county services.
  • Senior for a Day Program: This annual celebration recognizes four seniors in Douglas County with a luncheon in their honor. Gift baskets are presented to them and they share their stories with the TRIAD members.
  • Senior Education Seminars: Senior Education Seminars address the challenges facing senior citizens by providing prevention education, and raising awareness of safety to enhance quality of life.
  • Senior I.C.E. Program: Stands for "In Case of Emergency" and addresses the need to create emergency contacts in personal cell phones.
