MINDEN, Nev. (Oct. 1, 2025) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has added a state-of-the-art surveillance trailer to its resources, strengthening its commitment to public safety and community protection. The trailer, made by Odin Systems, was made possible through funding provided by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council.
The equipment will be used by the Sheriff's Office at special events such as the Candy Dance, American Century Championship, and Carson Valley Days to name a few. It allows the Sheriff’s Office to record any incidents or criminal activity that may occur at the event.
“More importantly, it helps prevent a crime from occurring. People tend to follow the rules if they know they are being watched,” said Sheriff Dan Coverley. “We typically would not have this type of resource available to us and are grateful to the support of the Advisory Council to be able to purchase this. The community’s support of the Sheriff’s Office through donations made to the Advisory Council is tremendous.”
