MINDEN, Nevada — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is joining 37 law enforcement agencies across Nevada in the statewide Joining Forces campaign to increase traffic safety awareness and enforcement. The campaign runs from October 2025 through September 2026.
“Together, we can build safer roads where every family gets home, every trip ends without tragedy, and no life is lost to haste or carelessness,” said Sheriff Dan Coverley. “Douglas County is growing rapidly, which brings more traffic and more incidents, including crashes. Through our dedicated patrols and public education efforts as part of Joining Forces, we’re committed to driving those numbers down to zero and saving lives through education, enforcement, and example.”
Joining Forces is a high-visibility, multi-jurisdictional effort to increase safety on Nevada’s roads. The program places focus on increased awareness and enforcement of traffic laws, including distracted and impaired driving, seat belt use, speeding, pedestrian safety, motorcycle, bicycle, and other traffic laws. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office participates in the Joining Forces traffic safety campaign through a grant provided by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
