Minden, NV - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce its participation in the Joining Forces traffic safety campaign that combines 30 law enforcement agencies across the State of Nevada focused on traffic safety awareness and enforcement. The campaign series will run from October 2024 through September 2025.
“The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is committed to keeping roads safe and promoting safe driving practices. The Joining Forces campaign is instrumental developing relationships with agencies throughout the state and working toward a common goal of increased traffic safety,” said Sheriff Dan Coverley. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has responded to nearly 300 traffic crashes in 2024.
Joining Forces is a high-visibility, multi-jurisdictional effort to increase safety on Nevada's roads. The program places focus on increased awareness and enforcement of traffic laws, including distracted and impaired driving, seat belt use, speeding, pedestrian safety, motorcycle, bicycle, and other traffic laws. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is able to participate in the Joining Forces traffic safety campaign through a grant provided by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration.
