Minden, NV – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has investigated a former staff member at China Spring Youth Camp who was arrested on December 14, 2023 and booked on two separate crimes of sexual conduct with children under the care, custody, control of supervision of the Camp in violation of NRS 201.555. The crimes are category C felonies punishable by up to five years in prison for each offense and fines up to $10,000.
Daryan Benka, age 25, was employed at China Spring Youth Camp as a case manager and counselor from June 2020 to October 2023 where she conducted assessments and provided counseling to several juveniles who were committed to the Camp. Two of the males assigned to Benka’s case load were 17 year old males who Benka engaged in sexual conduct with at various times during 2023. Following her arrest, Benka was booked into the Douglas County Jail with bail set in the amount of $20,006. Benka posted the bail on December 15, 2023. Conditions of her release on bail include being supervised by the Douglas County Department of Alternative Sentencing, including a court ordered GPS ankle monitor and no contact with the victims. Benka currently resides in Sparks, Nevada. Benka was ordered to appear in the East Fork Justice Court in Minden on January 8, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. for her initial court appearance and arraignment.
