DCSO Receives New Reader Boards

Douglas County, NV - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received two Reader Boards, which were donated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council (DCSAC).  The reader boards are used to assist in traffic control and messaging during emergencies and special events.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council is a non-profit service organization founded to raise funds for extraordinary expenses of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office including continuing education and training for personnel, technological resources and other supplemental equipment.  The DCSAC was formed in May 2004 and consists of community volunteers dedicated to supporting the Sheriff’s Office by obtaining grants and private donations for needed equipment and education not afforded in the general budget.

“I would like to thank the Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council for purchasing the reader boards. Without organizations such as this, it would be extremely difficult to purchase this type of equipment”, said Sheriff Coverley.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office serves as the County’s only local law enforcement agency. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, incorporated in 1861, has a long-standing motto of “A Tradition of Service,” which speaks to its commitment to protect and serve the citizens and visitors of Douglas County. The agency remains dedicated to maintaining the quality of life enjoyed throughout our community, and ensuring the county is a safe place to live, work and visit.
