Douglas County Sheriff's Office Responds to Armed Robbery and Shooting, Suspects in Custody
Minden, NV – At 4:57 a.m., an armed robbery took place at the C.O.D Casino in Minden. Two suspects entered the casino and got away with an unknown amount of money. Shortly after casino employees called 911, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Deputy located and made contact with the suspect vehicle in a nearby neighborhood. Deputies quickly began searching nearby neighborhoods. The first suspect—Andrew Toomey, 43, of Carson City—was located in the yard of a nearby residence on County Road and taken into custody. A second suspect—Chase Henderson, 33, of Minden—was located hiding under some plywood in the yard of a nearby residence on County Road. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail in Minden.
Both suspects are being charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Additionally, Henderson is charged with Attempted Homicide of an Officer and Battery on an Officer.
At this time, there is no active threat to the community and no injuries. Carson City Sheriff’s Office is assisting DCSO in the investigation.
