Minden, NV- The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard is hosting an annual fundraising golf tournament on September 18, 2021 at the Carson Valley Golf Tournament. The tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. and is open to the community to enter; however, prior registration is required. The event will include lunch, raffle prizes and prizes for tournament placement.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard plays a pivotal role within the department by honoring law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities throughout the country.

The Honor Guard provides funeral services for fallen officers as well as ceremonial services throughout the year. Ceremonies include the James D. Hoff Peace Officer’s Memorial at Idlewild Park in Reno and the State Peace Officer’s Memorial in Carson City on the Legislative grounds.

You may recognize the Honor Guard from their specialized uniforms as they lead the Carson Valley Days Parade as well as the Parade of Lights by carrying the American and Nevada State Flag.

So, if you own a set of golf clubs come out and enjoy a round of golf and support the DCSO Honor Guard. If you’re not a golfer and would like to contribute, sponsorships are welcomed.
